KSAAT “Hidden in Plain Sight” presentation @ Danville Elementary School

Hidden in Plain Sight is an interactive and informative presentation for adults designed to build their awareness on items they may find in an adolescent’s room, book-bag, closet or car that indicate risky behaviors including drug and alcohol abuse. The presentation features a staged bedroom with 150 items that are hidden in plain sight. Attendees at earlier presentations have indicated an increased awareness in their understanding of items associated with alcohol and other drug use.

Hidden in Plain Sight presentations are free and there is no –pre-registration. The presentations are for adults only.

Kenyon Unique with architect Graham Gund @ Gund Gallery

Renowned architect Graham Gund, a 1963 graduate of Kenyon College, has created a number of landmark spaces for the Kenyon community, renovating and creating buildings including Horvitz Hall, the Kenyon Athletic Center and the Gund Gallery. He will discuss his ongoing work in this year’s Kenyon Unique lecture.

The Kenyon Unique lecture series features conversations with distinguished Kenyon faculty members and Kenyon alumni. Gund will discuss his creative process with Kenyon Board of Trustees member and 1977 graduate Matthew Winkler in a live-streamed event that will be recorded for a digital archive. A reception will follow.

“All Politics Is Local” @ Gund Gallery

Elected officials on the state, county and local levels will come together for a panel discussion titled “All Politics Is Local.” The panel will address current concerns and challenges facing Knox County and how state, county and local governments can contribute to solutions. Panelists also will examine how state, county, city and village issues intersect.

Panelists include State Representative Rick Carfagna, Knox County Commissioner Teresa Bemiller, Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis and Gambier Mayor Kachen Kimmell.
