Christmas at Kingwood

When: every Thursday through Sunday, 2-8pm, from November 26 – December 30, EXCEPT December 2, 24 and 25 grounds will be closed.

Location: 50 N. Trimble Rd. Mansfield

Bask in the beautiful lights, stunning displays, and festive spirit this Holiday season at Kingwood Center Gardens. Each room of Kingwood Hall will be decorated to depict various Christmas Carols.  The popular Walk of Trees will be in its glory with the participation of many local businesses showing their Holiday spirit.  Every Saturday night, enjoy roasting a smore by campfire, and of course the Kingwood tradition would not be complete without daily live music and thousands of lights on the property. Admission is $5.00 per person. Members and Volunteers ALWAYS free. Children 6 and under free.

 

Mount Vernon Christmas Walk and Parade

When: Sunday, November 27

Location: Walk Downtown from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Christmas Parade along Main Street at 2:30 p.m.

The holiday season in Mount Vernon is filled with many activities for the family. The Christmas Parade features many entries decorated to fit the theme of the year, Comic Strip Christmas. Santa makes his grand appearance at the Parade with the procession beginning at the Buckeye Candy Building. Come early to enjoy the Christmas Walk with the Heritage Centre district shopping and activities starting at 1:00 pm.

The fun continues with Downtown stores open for visitors to shop, browse, or just get ideas for Christmas gifts. Chestnuts, roasted on an open fire, are available with coffee, hot chocolate and kettle corn. A Carousel and a Holiday Train will be giving rides around the streets of downtown Mount Vernon. Music of the season fills the area when choral groups carol while strolling down the streets and various local musicians perform at designated spots along the Walk. Those wanting to experience the history of Mount Vernon will have a chance to tour our historic landmark, the Woodward Opera House. At the end of the day, everyone is invited to partake in Caroling and the lighting of the Christmas Tree. This tradition that you won’t want to miss, with the addition of new lights on the large evergreen across from City Hall.

 

Ohio Statehouse Holiday Celebration

The Ohio Statehouse kicks off the season in Ohio with a free Holiday Festival and Open House.  All are welcome at this annual family-friendly event.  The celebration continues all month with free tours of the historical building decorated in Victorian style, every day except state holidays.  School choirs and musicians fill the space with beautiful music during the month of December.  Admission to the Ohio Statehouse Holiday Celebration is free.

 

Alum Creek Presents the 17th Annual
Drive Thru Light Show and Santa House

When: November 18 – January 1

Location: Light displays are located at the Alum Creek State Park Campgrounds, 2911 S. Old State Rd., Delaware;
The Santa House with free hot chocolate and cookies will be held at Cross Creek Camping Resort, 30 seconds down the street at 3190 South Old State Rd. Delaware.

Bellville’s Lighting of Yule Log

Christmas Time in the City

When: Friday, December 2, 5PM – 9PM

Location: Downtown Mansfield, 101 1/2 North Main St, Mansfield

Presented By: Downtown Mansfield Inc.

Enjoy Christmas Time in the City in the historic Carrousel District.  Festivities will begin at 5PM with a reindeer petting zoo, photos with Santa, carriages rides, Christmas caroling, light displays at the Brickyard, and more! At 6PM, Mayor Theaker will join the crowd for the 2016 Startek Christmas Tree Lighting at Richland Carrousel Park. After the tree lighting, guests can visit the Tiny Tim Shoppe or go on a Historic Church Tour.

Downtown businesses will be open late for the December Shop Hop and will have special events, including entertainment and holiday deals!  And don’t miss the Historic Home Tour.

 

Candlelight Holiday Tours

Saturday, December 3 & 10, 5pm – 9pm

Sunday, December 4 & 11, NOON – 5pm

At your own pace, tour Louis Bromfield’s Big House all decked out for the holidays while enjoying freshly baked cookies and hot cider. Individual Price: $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children; No Pre-Registration Required.

 

Fredericktown Annual Christmas Walk and Auction

When: Saturday, December 3, 3-7pm

Location: Downtown Fredericktown

Charity Auction begins at 3pm to benefit Interchurch Social Services & Salvation Army.  Local businesses open throughout.  Live Ice Sculpture Demonstrations, live music, pictures with Santa, Poinsettia sale, Santa’s Toy Shop, Sophia’s petting zoo, children’s crafts, craft vendors, food sales & more!  Something for everyone!!

 

Christmas in Veterans’ Park

When: December 3, 5PM – 8PM

Location: 31 N. 6th St. & 5 N. 6th St., Newark

Tour the Sherwood-Davidson House and Buckingham Meeting House, decorated for the Christmas holiday.  Music, refreshments, children’s craft, and Father Christmas at the Buckingham House.  Visit the Sherwood-Davidson House Museum Goes to the Movies – see a favorite Christmas movie portrayed in every room. Free and open to the public.

 

Candlelight Christmas at the Webb House

When: December 3, 5PM – 8PM

The Webb House Museum will be featuring the theme “We Love Christmas!” Free and open to the public.

 

Christmas Candlelighting at Roscoe Village

MVNU’s Choral Union presents: Handel’s Messiah Concert
