Danville Issues Boil Advisory

The Village of Danville Water Department News Release:
Precautionary Boil Advisory
Village of Danville Residents
Due to the depressurization of the water system it’s possible that organisms that cause illness in
people may have entered the water supply. The Village of Danville is issuing a precautionary boil
advisory.
AS A PRECAUTION, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all
water to a boil, let it boil for at least one minute, and let it cool before using or use bottled
water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing
dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in
the water.
We have no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility, however,
does exist that the water system is contaminated and is issuing this boil advisory as a precaution.
What is being done? The water system pressure is being restored. Samples will be pulled
this afternoon and taken to a lab for analysis. Please continue to boil the water until further
notice. You will be notified again when the water has been determine to be bacteria free
again.
