Flood Warning in effect in Knox County

..A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT FRIDAY FOR
SOUTHERN RICHLAND…CENTRAL MARION…SOUTHERN ASHLAND…MORROW…
CRAWFORD AND KNOX COUNTIES…

At 1258 AM EDT, reporting river gauges and departments of
transportation indicated flooding across the warned area due to
heavy rain from Wednesday and Thursday. Many creeks and streams have
overflown their banks and others will continue to rise as they
respond. Flooding is expected to continue through the night and
continue into Friday. Road closures due to high water are occurring
and some more may be expected near many of these waterways.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Mansfield, Marion, Mount Vernon, Bucyrus, Mount Gilead, Galion,
Lexington, Crestline, Loudonville, Fredericktown, Gambier, Utica,
Cardington, Bellville, Centerburg, Ashley, Prospect, Danville, New
Washington and Waldo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
