Walk-in clinics for sports physicals available at health center

The Knox County Community Health Center has announced dates for several walk-
in clinics offering physical exams for youth who will be playing sports in the fall and
still need to get a physical exam.
The clinics will be held on July 12 from 8 a.m. to noon; July 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
and Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each clinic will be held at the health center which
is located inside the Knox County Health Department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Rd.
The sports physical clinics will be conducted on a walk-in basis. No appointment is
necessary. Doctor Larry Reed and Nurse Practitioner Jackie Neighbarger will
conduct the physical exams. There is a $20 fee for the exam. The health center
accepts cash, checks and debit/credit cards for payment. Due to the discounted cost,
insurance or Medicare will not be accepted as payment during this special clinic.
Students need to bring necessary paperwork provided by the school sports program.
Students are also encouraged to bring their immunization record. If students are not
accompanied by a parent, they should have their consent form signed by a parent
prior to attending the clinic to authorize the provider to perform the exam.
For more information, contact the health center at 740-399-8008.
