Today the Exchange Club of Mount Vernon awarded Knox County Career Center Senior, Brittany Bird as their April Student of the Month, at their monthly meeting which is held at the Alcove Restaurant.
Beth Marhefka, the KCCC School Counselor, said that every month all of the KCCC instructors nominate senior students from their lab classes for student of the month distinction. This month Brittany was selected because of her consistent effort that she has put forth during her entire senior year, and for having good grades, and a desire to furthering her education at the Art Institute of Cincinnati with a focus on Animation. Marefka said that Brittany has great passion for the work that she does in Digital Media and Software Design at KCCC, so much so that she was awarded the state honor of Most Outstanding Student in Digital media and Software Design in 2014.
