Jackets lose 3rd straight conference game

The Mount Vernon Yellow Jacket baseball team dropped their 3rd straight conference game on Wednesday when they fell 6-2 against Olentangy Orange. Mount Vernon fell behind 1-0 in the first on an RBI groundout by Jason Schutte. The Jackets answered with a two spot in the 2nd thanks to a Justin Davis RBI groundout and an RBI single by Ryan Fitzgerald. The lead held until the 5th when the Pioneers scored 3 times. Mount Vernon dropped to 8-4 and 2-3 in the OCC Capital.

Of Note: Mount Vernon played without Centerfielder JD Orr and Rightfielder Bryant Shellenbarger(hip/back)

The Jackets play at Orange on Friday at 5pm.
