Local Talent honored among All State Football Performers

The Season didn’t end the way the Mount Vernon Yellow Jacket Football Team had hoped. The Jackets lost their last four games and missed the playoffs after posting a 5-1 record the first six games. The winner of the ultra competitive OCC Capital division were the Olentangy Braves, they lost in the State Semifinals but both teams had players picked for the Division two All-Ohio Football teams. Mount Vernon Runningback JD Orr, who in his career gained more than 5,000 yards from scrimmage, was named first team offense on the All-Ohio Division two football team. The Braves had Defensive Lineman Connor Slade elected to the first team defense and Quarterback Deeb Haber elected to the second team Offense. In addition, Braves players Luke Hackathorne, Drew Batt, Luke Campbell and Anthony Golden made All-Ohio teams. Mount Vernon Offensive and Defensive Lineman Alec Curts was Honorable Mention All-Ohio.
